For Our Reason is a collection of music, clothing, and merchandise that stands for uniting the people of Hispaniola while honoring the proclaimed Gérard Daniel. The business was founded in 2018 by Jay Anthony Daniel, son of Gérard Daniel.
Gérard Daniel was a prodigal Haitian-Dominican (Hispaniolan) saxophonist that emerged in 1960s. He ignited a new wave of artistic experimentation and cultural representation that hadn’t been seen prior and his songs transcended the boundaries of music.
Jay Anthony knew he wanted to continue his father’s legacy and preserve musical history in the modern world. While Gérard Daniel is no longer with us, he touched many lives. For Our Reason allows future generations to connect with Gérard’s work, life, and impact. Art is one of the few things that live on even after we pass. Jay Anthony hopes to give his family’s artistry a place to exist for years to come.
This company is both a time capsule and a space of innovation, showcasing a combination of Gérard’s music and Jay Anthony’s clothing lines. For Our Reason is built on the pillars of, unity, honor, strength and family.
